60 km of Rough Narrow Roads up to and around the lake made me wish I had my dirt bike instead of my rental truck!

The Temple in Santiago. Yes I went through a session. No I don't speak much Spanish....I did OK until they asked me to the prayer circle, then I mumbled quietly through the words (most of which I didn't understand), and made it through the veil in English, Thanks to an English speaking Temple Missionary from Canada!

The temple grounds are right in the middle of the City. On the block they have the temple, the mission home, the MTC for Southern South America, living quarters, and a distribution center. Pretty neat!

Christa's Christmas Home Show

Christa was asked to decorate our home for a Christmas home show. Tickets are sold and people are able to tour the homes to get ideas for Christmas, catch the Christmas Spirit, or whatever. The money made is donated to things like "make a wish foundation" YIPS" and other charities. Last year they made almost $16,000.00 to donate. We figured we had somewhere between 1000 and 2000 people in our home today.
Christa decided to do this because it was today, on her mothers birthday. Since Christa's mom passed away this last spring, she was able to use many of her moms decorations to commemorate her mothers life. It was a great thing to do and for a great cause, and she really enjoyed it. Many friend came for two weeks to help decorate, and loaned her lots of decorations as well. Thanks to everyone and we hope everyone that came enjoyed a little piece of our Christmas!

We went on 8 zip lines that ranges from 10 mph to almost 60 mph. 4 tandem and 4 single. Some backwards and some with no hands! It was a blast! One line was over 1/2 mile long and almost 800 feet up at the highest point.

I finished my sprinkler system and planted the grass. Harrowed it in with the 4 wheeler and a 10 foot length of chainlink fence. Set the sprinkler for 4 times and day and presto! Two weeks later.....Instant Lawn! Amazing how fast that happens when it is 95 degrees!

While Christa went to Girls Camp the week of June 15, I took the boys to Grandma and Grandpa Schiess's house. They played in the creek, rode the 4-wheeler and motor bike all over, and explored the farm for two days. Grandpa and I spent two long days and installed a new front door, trimmed the door and windows, and rocked the front entry of the house. Tomorrow we will go fishing!

We moved in about 3 weeks ago and still have a lot to do! We finished the tile the first week in and now we are working on the landscaping, the garden, and Christa seems to be fighting a losing battle with all the dust! Sprinkler system and then GRASS...... soon I hope!

For my birthday started the day with the last wrestling tournament. For lunch we had a pizza party to celebrate their great season. After pizza, Christa took a nap while I replaced the broken trailing arm on my sled. This evening we went to dinner at the Outback and to NazzCart with some friends. It was great fun. When we got back, we had cake and icecream with the boys.

This was their last tournament. Cody and Branden were not feeling well today, but they wrestled anyway. Dusty has improved huge this year! He almost won all four matches this time. The last match was against another kid with three other wins. Dusty worked him over pretty good and was winning pretty easy, then they thought the match was over so they quit and the ref told them to keep going so the other kid threw Dusty into a headlock before he realized what was going on and pinned him! That was too bad. Bridger won all four of his again, but had two really tough matches. Branden won three and lost one to a kid that was really good. Cody won his first match and lost his second. He pretty much gave up on the kid because he just wasn't feeling well and couldn't stop crying. So after that match we went home. They all had a great season and I am very proud of them all!

Cody's car did pretty good. I figure somewhere in the top 10 out of almost 40 cars. His average time was 3.165 seconds. The winner's average was 3.141 seconds. He had fun just being there!

The mud and tape is finished. They will come back in tomorrow and texture, then they said they are coming in to finish on Sunday. Trim from Monday -Thursday, and then paint. After paint I will be tiling like mad and then laying the wood floors. Our contractor still thinks we will be in by mid April. We'll have to see how fast I can lay the floors!

Here are some pics of our House progress. The siding in on, and the stucco is going up. I had big plans to do the stucco and rock myself, but with spring being the busy season at work, and everything else going on, I put up the duroc and cut the foam for all the trim and taped all the seams, then I made a quick drive to CA for work and bla bla bla......so I hired a guy to come in a finish. He will have the color on tomorrow, and the rock by the end of next week! Thats way faster than I could have done it every day after work! At least I got to design it!

Dusty

Dusty wins the award for "most improved" this week. He is only in Preschool and wrestling kindergarteners and some preschoolers. He is only 5 pounds lighter than Bridger, and he is not aggressive like Bridger. Last week he would tie up with his apponent, then if he went to his back he would lay there and smile and look around till he was pinned. This week he actually fought hard to stay off his back, and he didn't get pinned once! He also won two matches this week! The only thing I teach him and work with him on, is to stay off his back and try to stay on top of his apponent. That's about all he can comprehend right now! This pictures shows his personality to the T! I could not get him to hold still for a serious picture!

Bridger

Bridger is the toughest meanest little bugger on the mat. He has no mercy. However can get frustrated if he doesn't think he is winning. Some matches end at the edge of tears, but if he doesn't cry he will tear up his apponent! Don't piss this kid off, or you WILL get the worst of it!

Cody won 3 of 4, but had two really tough kids this time. Two of them never lost a match last year. I was proud of Cody. He really stepped up to the plate and put on a good show.

Cody, little Branden and Bridger won all 4 matches and got gold metals. Dusty Won 1 match but mostly had fun rolling on the mat and playing. He is only in preschool but has to wrestle kindergarteners because that is the youngest age that wrestles.

Sunday February 22, 2009 in Melipilla, Chile I went to church. This is the third time at this ward. They recognize me each time I go (It's not very often theay they see a white, bald guy!) I still don't speak Spanish! I understand a lot of words, but it's all the words inbetween those words that get me! Here is a picture of me with two Elders. The one on the right is from Argentina( 21 months out), and the one on the left is from Panama (he's a greenie of two weeks).

The other pic is one of my bean breeder with the beard and my counterpart in Europe with the glasses. This was Sunday dinner that we prepared together. It was very good food!

Cody Won First Place this year at his pinewood derby. There were about 18 cars and he set a track record! No I didn't build his car. He designed it, I cut is out, he sanded for days, chose the paint and painted it and designed the stickers. I added the wheels and weights. (the critical part!) He was pretty excited!

Didn't get many good pics. I forgot the good camera so was left to the camera on my phone. The kids had a blast. The hill was pretty icy and the tubes were fast. The colorful kid is Dusty. This was his only crash. He usually caught pretty good air and could land it nice. But this one brought the tears!

Our Trip to LegoLand Dec 13-21

We Left Saturday and went to Salt Lake where we went to Temple Square and saw the lights and other attractions as well as a movie at Legacy Theatre. We stayed that night with Christa's Sister in SLC. The next day we drove to St. George and Stayed two nights with Mom and Dad (Grandma and Grandpa Schiess) at their Condo. We had fun eating food and watching movies! Even Helped dad put insulation in the attic and fix the Kitchen sink! On Tuesday we drove through the beautiful canyon between St. George and Las Vegas, Drove down the Las Vegas Strip and ate at Michelle and John’s favorite "In-N-Out" Burger joint. Drove to Oceanside, CA and checked into our condo. Wednesday it rained ALL DAY. Yes ALL DAY! But we walked the beach anyway and found sand dollars and sea shells. We were all soaked and cold and went back to the condo to soak in the tub and drink hot chocolate while we watched Christmas movies. We actually walked the beach every day we were in Oceanside, but the other days were nice. We had fun in the pool and hot tub each night as well. Thursday and Friday was Lego land. The Kids had a blast! They rode tons of rides and even got to be in a play. Since it was December and cool (50-60 degrees) the park was pretty empty and we never stood in lines. But the temperature felt nice for those of us from Idaho! Many times we would finish a ride and they would ask if we wanted to go again without getting off! We were planning to go to Michelle and John's for the weekend, but Cody and I caught a cold and two kids had pink eye. Not a nice Christmas gift to bring everyone. So we drove back to St. George on Saturday and back home on Sunday. It was a nice trip, but long, and we were all glad to be home!

The boys had fun dressing up for Halloween. Dusty wore his spiderman costume for three weeks! Bridger wanted to be a scary vampire and didn't have to go "out of character" much. They went up and down one of the nice neighborhoods and got lots of candy, which they shared with dad. Cody still love Star Wars but had to remove his mask after dark because he couldn't see through it. Little Branden wanted to be a dolphin again this year and has been practicing his dolphin call.

Today we are attempting to start blogging. We took our family pictures this morning, which is a yearly event for us. We can't believe it is November and still 65 degrees outside. We were able to take some great pictures with all the fall leaves down by the falls. We do have some great looking boys--with a lot of personality!
